We’re only halfway through, and EBP’s first summer has already been a busy one! Here’s a quick roundup of some of the things that have been going on with Echo Base over the last two months:
-Recording Emma Ayres: The incomparably wonderful Emma Ayres and I have been having a blast tracking and producing her upcoming EP, “Encyclopedia of the Broken Hearted.” We wrapped basics a few weeks back, and are hitting the finishing production/tracking touches now! Stay tuned for details on that release, and in the meantime, check out some of Emma’s other amazing work here and here (w/ Old Flame)
-Speaking of Old Flame: in case you missed it, we released an album last spring! It’s called Young & In Debt and was produced by myself @ Echo Base, mixed by legit genius Andrew “Sandshrew” Oedel @ Ghost Hit Recording (who also handled the majority of the recording), and mastered by the amazing Andy Cassella of Shape Recording & Sodada fame. And if you haven’t yet (or even if you did back when it dropped), you should give it a listen (or 1000)!
-Speaking of Sodada: I’ve been in the studio doing production and drum work with this wonderful duo working on a batch of new singles that we’re very excited to share! Some pics from those sessions will be popping up in the gallery, and those tunes should be on their way soon! Very excited to share them. While you’re anxiously awaiting, make sure to check Sodada’s recent full length, Phase.
-Last But Not Least…New Studio: A week ago, Echo Base made the big move north-east to a wonderful spot in Shutesbury. Pics to come, but incredibly excited about how the new space is shaping up!
